DAVE
There is a planet in the northern most part of the Bella-Rose galaxy that sits still, isolated and long abandoned. The inhabitants force-stopped its rotation in order to remove
one of its citizens; The “supposedly” native Chicagoan Dave Kelly was discovered playing killer drums in a smoky, but dimly lit bar on his home world, his “kind” were appalled at his freakish ability to play any style with the grace and confidence that many of the great masters had taken years to achieve. This of course led to many meetings and assemblies, an up roar, a shout and a holler could be heard echoing in the hearts of the citizens of this lonely world. Finally the great counsel came together and it was unanimously decided to
permanently remove Dave Kelly…the oddity.
Dave began his education (on earth) at the infamous University of North Texas in Denton studying under Ed Soph. After completing his time in Texas, Joe LaBabara brought him to California to further study at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts.
Now claiming to hail from Chicago Dave Kelly can be found touring with the Lofton Creek recording artists The Drew Davis band, Amity Recording artist MimosA, and Bella Canto.
JOHN
Born in a small town just South of Chicago, John was raised around music. He sang alongside his father in the church choir at the “ripe old” age of 10. His mother taught him his first guitar chords in the sixth grade. From then on, there was nothing much that could keep his interest besides writing and performing music.
As a singer/songwriter, performing in Chicago, John spent the rest of his “free” time waiting tables, selling guitars, and attending Columbia College. It was there that he received a bachelor’s degree in the field of Music Business.
John was discovered by the Drew Davis Band in 2007 by way of his biggest fan…his mother, when Loren Ellis came into her bank to open an account. After a few trial shows, the band took him on as their full time guitar tech, a job that lasted about 2 weeks. In need of a soundman for a show, the band asked John to step behind the mixing board. Being that live sound was something John was always passionate about, this job seemed to fit him like a glove. Since that fateful day, he has been the band’s full time live sound engineer.
Nowadays, you can find John behind the board at any Drew Davis band show. And if you don’t see him there, check the office in the bus. That’s where he’s running double duty as the band’s tour manager.
