It's more unusual than you might imagine...a boy from Malibu, California playing country music. Having had almost no exposure to country music when he was growing up, Loren Ellis has found a passion for bluegrass and country music that's very rare in Southern California.

Loren's father was a professional guitarist, and so Loren was exposed to music at a very early age. He began playing piano at the age of 3 and soon after was enrolled in a music academy in Los Angeles. In the 6th grade Loren picked up the guitar and by high school was composing music for his school's orchestra and wind ensembles. Along the way he picked up the banjo and mandolin and earned a bachelor of music from the University of Southern California.

Loren has performed guitar on dozens of albums, commercials, TV shows, docu- mentaries, and TV movies for NBC, ABC, MTV, and the History Channel, including regular performances on the hit TV series Alias. Songs from his 3 independently released solo albums can be heard on MTV's Undressed and the movie The Journey that won the Audience Award at the Milan International Film Festival. Additionally, Loren has opened for Grammy Award winner Marc Cohn and shared the stage with Kansas, the Monkees' Mickey Dolenz, and Melissa Etheridge.

Loren and fellow Drew Davis Band member Mo Levone also play in the bluegrass band Honeywagon, which began releasing records for the bluegrass label CMH Records in 2003.
